Date ERRor

I have a External Hard Drive Fantoms Drive 500GB , i think i lost all my data , i see the drive when i go on my computer but i can read the data when i go on prompt DOS i receive the message DATA ERROR (CYCLE redundance Check) How you can help me to fix this error and found my data (lominy56@gmail.com) its my email

If possible, try and run a checkdsk on it and see what it tells you. How old is the drive?
