hmm, so the bottom line is we dont know if it'll fit. it might or it might not...no matter what it'll be a tight squeeze.

can you recommend a nice cheap full tower case then? this mini cost $40 so something along that price range would be great. I dont need any fancy lights on my case or anything

I would never use a minitower with the 9800GX2 or any other highend card. Minitowers rarely if ever move enough air, the highend cards need good circulation, they generate a huge amount of heat.

please quit trying to scare me :(

this antec 300 may be small but it has more fans and ventilation than ive ever seen on a tower.

besides, i dont plan to game at anything higher than 1600x1200 resolution

9800gx2's reference cooler draw air from inside the case and vent hot air outside through the back, so no, it won't heat up the case.

As for $40 for full tower, it doesn't exist. But there are plenty of midtowers for $40 or less.

antec 300 is a mid tower, not mini tower. and it moves plenty of air

Try googling the case model and 9800gtx, then see if other people get it to fit.

You wanted 9800gx2, but it's not a common card, so you're not likley to get many hits. Since 9800gtx is exactly the same length as 9800gx2, google it instead.

I have an Antec 300 case with an 8800GT which measures about 9" and it's a bit snug with not very much space to spare. It might be possible with a well organized case but I might look for a different card or case. Otherwise, the 300 seems to be a great case for the money and it is definitely a mid-tower despite what it says on the retail box.

should i just stick to the antecs?
