Hey, i was curious if the sharp 32" or sharp 37" lcd tv would work well as a monitor.
I currently have a 8800gt video card, a tv tuner card with a hi def receiver for tv and a blue ray player. I would also purchase a xbox 360 to plug into the vyper ports.
How would the picture quality for desktop browsing and games like counterstrike and so forth? the 32" is 850 bucks and the 37" is 950, both are 1080p.
well if your using it for games like counter-strike your good but if you get into some real games i suggest a 9800gtx/gtx+ or a hd4850. BUT a 8800gt will be perfrect for what your going for. like i said only if you want to play newer/better games, youll need a stronger card to get good results. what resolution does the hdtv support?

the thing with these wide screen displays is you going to have to run them at there native resolution to get the PC to display the full screen with no items being cut off by the screen. from searching on google i think no matter how big the TV as long as it is being run at 1080P the resolution will be 1920 x 1080
A wireless xbox360 remote and you will be able to feel like you're playing a 360 with much better graphics.
Games will look great on either tv, but it may not work well for surfing the net and doing work.
I got an HD-DVD/Blu-ray player from LG. It works really well when watching movies on my HDTV. ATI cards are also pretty nice when you are using a tv. You can do sound and picture over one cable, which was pretty simple to get working.
You can always run that 1920x1080 at 960x540 and get perfect 2:1 scaling. You will need something called "zoom" or "full" so it fills the entire screen.
