Heatsink smaller than cpu

the heatsink on my new arctic freezer pro 7 HSF is smaller than my cpu! is this normal or a problem? it IS made for my 775 cpu.

Keeping in mind that by today's standards, the ACF7P is an average HSF, it's not a problem.

it just doesnt seem right that the whole cpu would not be covered. will the heat just naturally accumulate towards the center to the HS? BTW i have not attached it yet. i just noticed by eye it was smaller and did my measurements to make sure.
