I have an ASUS 87N deluxe MB. I had a 400W psu by antec that I have been using for the past 2 years. Today I started having random shutdowns. The pc would just turn off suddenly as if I had unplugged it and when I reboot there is no error or system check due to the crash, it just boots normally. I replaced the PSU with an antec 500w figuring that is the problem. As of now there are no crashes. But......when using the ABit Eq software to monitor the system, I have a problem. Under the voltage setting -5V, the low limit is -5.50 and the high is -4.50. The current value is 3.55!!! What is this going to and what should I look for? I have changed psu's before and I have checked everything I know right now. All cables are accounted for. Any help would be appreciated. My current CPU temp is 100 F and SYS is 75 F. I have not noticed any spikes in temp. Thanks again and let me know if any more info is needed. David

Welcome to the forums!

Only some very old motherboards or ISA expansion cards require -5v.
It's probably a false reading.
Don't worry about it.
