tbh that system that system sucks but for around 400... its still kinda crappy
btw it comes with a 160 GB HDD so you don't need the 500 GB one

and for such a lower powered system i wouldn't' think you would need 4 GB of memory

If you're just planning to use that for everyday use. Then don't bother getting the extra ram.

If you're intending for this machine to play games, well, you don't have a discrete video card, so I woulnd't bother.

^+1 Excactly. You get what you pay for.

Your total is $452, for that you could buy a premade from Dell or build alot better on your own.

Here is a build I just did for my 8 year old son. It is way better then what your looking at. http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=9711186

Well I actually bumped sons up to 4G ram and 4670 GPU, and we used a HDD we already had.

If you but what your looking at, you need to upgrade whole system as soon as you take it home.

Thanks guys. I didnt buy tonight.

I need something for less than 500, WITH a copy of XP though, and I need it for mostly using Photoshop.

I am a photographer and as I use multiple programs (while using Photoshop) I get some hardcore slowdowns.

Trust me, even this "crap" is better than my AMD 3300 system with 1.25 gigs of ram

Why do you need XP? The link I posted above has Vista home Premium, and it will be just as good if not better then xp.

After Vista SP! the only thing that causes problems is way old hardware. If you got good hardware Vista is way better then XP.

Also you do multiple things you said at a time, so the quad core CPU i posted above will really kick it in the a55 for you. And it has a built in card reader for your convienience.

You nuts if you dont buy it over what your looking at.
