NForce 3-A Network Problem

I have an ECS NForce 3-A ver 1.0F motherboard and it has developed a strange problem. When I first turn on the on-board network interface will not work. There are 0 bytes sent or received. I am using XP pro with service pac 2 and it is up to date with all MicroSoft patches. I have tried the repair option but it does not produce any results. If I reboot the computer it works fine.

Sounds like a failing motherboard, which isn't too surprising with ECS.
