I have some 42 inch monitors I use as TVs via either S-video or
composite. That means I use a the tuners in VCRs for tuning analog
cable. VCRs are dying and OTA digital is here. The manuals for the
Hughes HIRD-E86 show it can handle OTA digital on 1 input and analog
cable on the other. Well the analog cable will not decode.

Has anyone made the E86 handle both inputs or found another device that
can handle both?

thanks

Yes.

But the E86 suffers from overheating problems and has a very high
failure rate. Failures usually affect the OTA & Cable NTSC and/or OTA
ATSC tuners. You may have a defective box.
