hey everyone, im new here.. first post 
anyways! im wanting to build a new computer. this is gona be my first but i know my stuff, ive dont alot of reaserch and stuff.. im going to be watercooling my cpu, then the other stuff later on... so im wondering, this is gona be a gaming rig... but is quad core really needed? im planning on overclocking it alot, hence the watercooling.. so what do i get? dual core..? or quad core? and what quad/dual? q6600, q6700.. ect.. budget about 1600?

i7 920 is the only way to go! 3.8ghz
if not go with a q6600 at 3.6
$1600 system:
giga or asus x58 the new p6t (non deluxe) $250 (combo is less)
core i7 $300
super taletn 6GB $150 1333 7-7-7 runs 1600 8-8-8 at 1.6-1.62v
card?
nvidai 260 216 or 1GB 4870 = $250
2x samsung F1 spiners in dual raid dual volume =$150
set up the 2x 750 GB as 750 raid0 leave the rest not formed - load windows make a raid1 with the rest second volume storage and second os drive
1000w psu antec or silverstone
antec 1200 case - this case is made for triple sli or quad fire or dual 4870x2s = $250 (combo at the egg)
cost is right about $1600 <= best system for the price! add another card later!
note the configuration - minus a bay
i just spec'd this system it came in at $1600 <--- the best system at that price!
1) future proof
2) you can add 3 cards and not bottle neck
3) 25k mem bandwidth is super fast
