Pushing it i would say but should be fine for most games, just not crysis really.

Is it possible to run two monitors from the same video card and just use my smaller one for gaming? I know how to hook up two monitors, but not how to specify what runs where.

Yes that would be possible, you can usually set that up through drivers through the desktop management tab i believe, not sure, don't use an nvidia card.
