I'm building a friend a PC with a intel c2d e5200 (2.5ghz). For a video card i chose a ATI RADEON HD 4850. Will the CPU bottleneck the GPU?

I have yet to pay.

It should be ok and anyway if it does you can just overclock the 5200 anyway.

It depends on the specific game. For most, no, it won't bottleneck.

What resolution are you playing...?
with a 4850, to avoid bottleneck, you should OC your CPU to 3Ghz or more.
