First, read the manual for the NAS200.

Second, I believe that you can replace the drive and the NAS will rebuild the array with no data loss and then you can access the data as usual.

DEAR CHUNKYMONSTER,

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY. THEY WAY YOU SUGGESTED IS A NORMAL SITUATION WHICH SUPPOSED TO BE.
THE PROBLEM I HAVE NOW IS THE DISK 1 FAILED. EVEN I PLUG IN A
NEW HDD, THE NAS200 TRYING TO REBUILD DATA FROM DISK 2 TO DISK 1 AND FINALLY THE NAS200 STILL REPORT DISK 1 FAIL.

ACTUALLY WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS HOW I CAN RETRIEVE MY DATA
STORED ON THE RAID DISK USING WINDOW XP.

SINCE NAS200 IS ACTUALLY A LINUX BOX (EXT3 DISK FORMAT), XP CANNOT RECOGNISE THE HDD WHEN I PULL THE HDD FROM THE NAS200 AND PLUG IT IN A USB HDD CASE.

I TRIED THE EXT2IFS TOOL, IT CAN RECOGNISED THE HDD BUT CANNOT ACCESS THE DATA. IT JUST SHOWING 3 VOLUME
1. LINUX RAID 1 VOLUME 1
2. LINUX RAID 1 VOLUME 2
3. SWAP VOLUME 1

ANY FURTHER SUGGESTION?
