I just built a system with an Asus M3A78-EM motherboard with an integrated NIC. Well, everything was running OK and I went to update the BIOS with the latest version (version 1207). After the update however, the NIC is suddenly completely gone. I have checked the BIOS to make sure it is enabled, and it appears to be. There's no network connection in the device manager, and "ipconfig /all" in the command prompt yields me practically nothing, just the first four lines. the primary DNS suffix is blank. It's like the card suddenly has disappeared. I am running Vista Home premium. Can anybody help?

you might want to try going back to an older bios... my brothers computer did this too, so i eventually got an old nic card from my friend, and it worked fine.. than that one disappeared, put it in another pci slot, disappeared in a few months..than the speakers stopped working, tried the speakers on another computer, and they worked fine

bottom line is, his motherboard is going, hopefully yours isn't
