hi,

i'm an independent producer using sony vegas to edit projects on. in the past (sd dv) i've used dual lcd's (gf 8500) and monitored output via firewire through my sony m15 vtr in component output to a studio monitor crt.

having moved over to hd, i would now like to monitor to lcd via hdmi. unfortunately it seems that all the hdmi enabled cards will only output TWO sources at the same time, ie, dvi + hdmi, or dvi x2, BUT NOT dvi x2 + hdmi.

i want to retain dual lcd's for timeline / program and use a third simply to monitor. are there any cards out there that will allow all three outputs to be used simultaneously?

alternatively, using the 2nd pci on my gigabyte board (GA-965P-DS3P), could i drop in a cheap hdmi enabled card and use that to monitor by?

any advice or suggestions most appreciated.

leslie

that's what i thought, but all the ones i looked at only have 2 x dvi and tv out. i might well be wrong, but the site doesn't offer much insight, and the price.... well i know they're specialised cards but...

thanks,

matrox sucked and still sux. forget about it. get a multiple pice slot motherboard and get 2 inexpensive cards that have outputs you need. no need to run them in sli/crossfire. use them as separate cards.

thanks eodeo,

that's what i was thinking of doing - my board has 2 x pci slots so i can continue with my 8500 and pick up a simply nvidia with hdmi....

thanks

How about a single card with 3-4 DVI outputs plus dvi-hdmi adapter? It's more cost effective. :p
