I'm running a new system with a 9950BE (OCd to 3ghz) a 4870, 4gb of memory. I'm unhappy with the 125 FPS in Warcraft, and here's why. When I first loaded everything up, I was getting 50 - 75 FPS, not bad, but slower than I expected with the 9950/4870 combo. I OCd to 2.8, and my FPS went up by 25, and another 200mghz bought me another 25 FPS. So, the CPU is the bottleneck. But why with such a new CPU is it bottlenecking that much? With the video card, I expected it to blow away my old puter which had SLId 6600s. Are we just waiting for new drivers to fix this, I don't see the processor over 30% when I'm playing, and I don't see the GPU that trussed either. I do see people with the 4850 though, outperforming the 4870s in WoW.
Just frustrated I guess. Puter performs well with everything else, I'm currently on Win XP X64 Professional, and Crysis runs fine with everything set pretty high. Stupid WoW.
