We need some solutions for the noise & heat coming off of the fastest cards. There's no-way a HTPC setup can put up with the noise racket coming off of the graphic card fans when they ratchet up to 3D mode. A lot of the reviews also complain that they're dumping the heat right back into the case.

Does anyone know of a way to tie in a water cooler? That might go a long way to something more elegant.

HTPC build in progress. I've narrowed the case down to a desktop style and full sized for an ATX motherboard. I'm considering
*Antec Fusion Remote Max

*Thermaltake Bach HT Series VB8000BNS

The gpu is a lot more of a problem. My research has centered around ATI's HD 4870 focusing on noise & temperature. In addition, it has to handle component cable HDTV-out for a secondary display. This HDTV-out has been a large problem. Look at Palit's Radeon HD 4870 graphic card, its description says "2x Dual-link DVI, HDTV-Out" http://www.palit.biz/main/vgapc.php?mid=78 while the picture doesn't shows anything for component cable connections. So I went to Palit's web site looking for answers. The site admin informed me "Palit own design 4870 doesn't support HDTV-out.". http://forum.palit.biz/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=765. I've sent this question out a few different ways & hope to get a satisfactory answer.
