First time overclocking

since my cpu is bit weak to run many games out there...

*Dual – Core CPU E5200 @ 2.5GHz

i was told to OC my cpu to 3Ghz if i can..

now i've never oced cpu lol..so im kinda scared bout it

cause i dont want cpu overheating and cause a problem lol..

will it be ok to OC that cpu to 3GHz?

I do have a cpu cooler (it's small fan right top of my cpu, fan was installed when i got this computer)

but will be enough? Here is my computer specs just incase

Motherboard: ASUS – P5KPL – CM
RAM: Kingston x 2 (Total 4GB)
- 2GB 800MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL6 DIMM
- tandard 256M X 64 Non-ECC 800MHz 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM (DDR2, 1.8V, CL6)
HDD: 500GB SATA HDD
GC: Thinking of purchasing ATI HD5770
CPU: Pentium® Dual – Core CPU E5200 @ 2.5GHz
OS: Microsoft Windows XP professional Version 2002
Service Pack 3 32 bit
PSU: LSP 750watt lightening series

Yes, you will be able to hit 3.0 on that CPU no problem, start here, study it a few times first, then attempt to OC, it's a great guide.
