4850x2 review!!

I don't kno how accurate this is....I mean the 4870 X2 is 30% faster than the 280 GTX, yet this 1 manages to double the 280.....? I'm sorry if I find that hard to believe....

I'm sorry but look at this... it shows the 4870 X2 quad not scaling almost @ all in COD4 where at every other site on the internet, thats where the 4870 X2 Quad and all quad setups shine.... Come on!!!! ROFLtastic

how is 3 Nvidia defense posts? Its 2 last 1 I'm defending the 4870 X2. That card deserves all the respects. I just excited about this card, i was going to grab it for my gf so she can play sims and all that crap (Star craft 2). These results are blown out of proportion, for god's sake it beats the 4870 X2 from these results...I guess the 4870 X2 is out 2 LMAO!!!

Yea I agree, there are a few of these results that are a little....well wierd. Im looking over them right now myself.

I dont get the 0 minimum FPS for the GTX 280 under Crysis at max res. How do you even conclude that, the game just freeze/lock or something?

Regardless, this card seemingly delivers. They couldnt botch every single test/result lol. I will give a clear decision once I see a price. If its over $400 then its not worth it, just give me two seperate 4850s for $300-$340 thanks.

**EDIT** Actually maybe they could botch it all. Look at the GPU Temp graph, its not even for the 4850X2......hopefully just mislabeled, alot.

even then, its very unprofessionally done. Just a second ago I went on hardware secrets to look for benchmarks on the 4830 (might be a better choice for me) and saw that in Half life 2 the 280 GTX got 31 fps, the 9800 GTX got 60 fps...

HW secrets? To me , a bad, cheaper version of Annands. Its ok sometimes, but I dont go there for most , or first looks at HW

My biggest problem is the price, not the performance. $420 might seem modest to some, but thats like...1/3 of my monthly "income". Also considering you can get two 4850's and a DFI X38 for $500, makes the purchase even less appealing.

Yes, agree. And since I have a P45 it would be ideal. However despite what benchmarks say, 8x/8x crossfire with 4850's is fine @ 1680 x 1050, my res.

thats fine, but you have a 4870 your good to go. My GF plays @ 1280x1024, I don't think she'll need a strong video card but I just can't say no to soo much power for so little money

Most definately, Far Cry 2 has an ATI shell with an evil Nvidia core lol. It was created on Nvidia components.

I understand, but this card is means nothing to them. I mean they loose nothing taking it back basically, replace a little hear, a little there. Worst case scenario its melted down and reused. Poof* new card

oh then thats just heaven sent for them, they send you a card (most likely refurbished, all companies do that). They replace the RAM bits, and either sell it like new or keep as another refurbished item
