So as the title says, I've got a 8800GT and a E6600 running at stock. The res I'm running this at on my monitor is 1280x1024. And I'm running Vista.

My question is, if I'm running the machine at this res, would my CPU at stock be or more hindrance than my graphics card? I've seen a few things around recently talking about games being more CPU bound at low res's.

What do you guys think?

Though your prcessor and card are well matched, your CPU is the weak link at 2.4ghz. You could definetly speed your games up by overclocking it.

Yer that's kinda what I thought.

I've dabbled with OCing before but what sort of speed do you think would suit the CPU best. Do you think a little boost to 3GHz would suffice? Or should I aim higher. Obviously it all depends on temps/stability etc. But I don't want to stress the cr*p out of my processor if I don't have to.

Also, are we talking jumping the CPU to 3GHz for an extra 2 FPS or more like 10+? I'm currently playing Fallout 3 if you need an example.
