Start-up issue

Recently my pc stopped working so I tooked it to a pc shop and their conclusion was that my dg965ss motherboard has blown...... cool so I tried to organize something affordable but ended up with the only available board the : Intel G35 Evo Cove board { DG35EC }

When I kick started my pc up again with the new installed G35 motherboard the screen never came on, the pc goes on as if its starting up but the screen stays like its not being activated......... Any Ideas what this could be, tried plugging it into the vga and into my Geforce 8500GT graphics card but still the same problem??

Iam running the Pentium D 945 processor (SL9QB}

Could it be a processor support issue..........

Any Ideas would be most welcome

Thanx for the response, I'am also thinking the same thing, funny though cause I was standing yesterday in Pinnacle Micro's technical department and the technician looked at this page http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?Boardname=dg35ec and said yes that the mobo supports my Pentium D 945 and referring to the Pentium Dual Core.....
So now I'am confused

Are they the same or are they totally different cpu's?
