External 2 TB WD hardrive is not recognized

I have an external 2 TB WD HDD, using E-sata. Whenever I turn on the external drive my windows vista 64-bit doesn't recognize the drive unless, I pull out the e-sata cable and plug it back in. It also happened with a previous hdd enclosure too. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

i had that problem, i had to download Mobo drivers off the website. then i had no problem and i could hot plug my external via eSata

The Asus website doesn't have that..I have the Asus Rampage II Extreme 1366. There are no recent updates for the E-sata ports or anything like that.
