I have heard that on the SB700 you run into a wall at clocking above 3.299ghz. Is this true? I have tried on my old processor which was a X2 7750 BE, and found it to be unstable above 3.245ghz with my current board NB780G/SB700, (see signature for rig specs) I switched to a X4 940 BE and didn't want to push it until I ask.

Solution
No that is not true.... The SB700 is a great overclocker, as a matter of fact I have seen 4.2Ghz with an x4 940. The reason you hit a wall is because the 7750 does not do much more than 3.2Ghz stable.

Your 940 should be able to do at least 3.8Ghz....

What are your load temps at 3Ghz?

No I purchased another cooler By thermaltake a few minutes ago from newegg. Its a dual orb finned, 80mm X 2, and 6 heatpipes enough for an intel extreme supposedly, which paste should I being using and how much should I apply? I am using artic five, and a coolermaster hyper-x 120mm right now.
