So I just built my new gaming rig and I'm loving it, except for I got Far Cry 2 and am having some WEIRD issues with it. All kinds of acid trip shading, things are being colored bright red, green and blue. I've done some research and found some other people are having graphics issues, some are Vista issues (i'm running 32 bit vista) and others are dead cards. Now no other game including Crysis which is built on the same engine as Far Cry 2 gives me any issues but FC2 does, basically after awhile of game play everything starts getting shaded with green, blue and red. Also if I let my computer sit still long enough my monitor goes black and starts flashing this note saying "Monitor Ok, check PC and Cable" I'm afraid I got a bad card, but I find it strange that only FC2 has issues, plus this monitor has been giving me that message for awhile now (it's about 5 years old).
I took a picture of what the game is doing
but sadly this forum wont let me post a picture with this thread. It looks kind of like the only N64 Turok games when you turned on the color cheat, everything goes weird colored. It's hard to explain, I wish I could post a pic on here... any help would be useful.
ATI 4850 with 1 Gig of built in memory, got a RaidMax 730w PSU and I'm using the newest ATI Catalyst drivers. I checked the heat and under FULL load I"m running at 50 degrees which from my understand is quite cool. Heres the kicker, so I went back and switched Far Cry 2 from DX10 Mode to DX9 and it has NO ISSUES, None, the game runs flawless for hours apon hours, I updated my DX 10 but still no change, as for the specific driver fixes I didn't know there were any, where can I find them?
