Hello, im new to this forum and had a question whether my GeForce 7200 gs is running too hot. I installed SpeedFan and its showing GPU 72-73C. Is that normal? If not, what is the normal temperature and how do i reach the right temperature?
Next, since im at it, i thought maybe i should install some HDD fans, i just bought a Barracuda 7200.11 500gb 32mb cache to go toghether with an old Maxtor IDE hdd. Maybe a more powerfull main fan(the one out the back)?
Also, is the side fan (the one i have on the side of the box) suppose to blow air IN or OUT? Any reason i should upgrade that fan?
Please help me, im not too good at computers so an input would be appreciated.
72-73 at load is fine. Just make sure it's clean, blow out any dust bunnies that might have moved into it. I use my side fans to blow air in at the graphic card and processor. Rear fan for exhaust. It won't hurt to add a more powerful fan at the back, but it will probably increase noise and probably isn't needed.
And check which way the fans blow when you install them. Having the exhaust fans blow in could be problematic. As for as the side fan goes... If you've got a stock CPU cooler it should blow out. If its a custom cooler we'll need to know which one it is.
Yes, its blowing air out at the exhaust, thanks. But the side fan is actually blowint air out as well, so i guess i have to rotate the fan. It came that way whe i bought the box to put/assemble my PC together. Didnt bother to check which way it was blowing, thought the manufacturer shoul dknow better. I guess they didnt, because the side fan is also blowing air out of the box.
