Basicly, i dont have the cash up front to build what i would like and i found an excelent deal at dell a few days ago. Q6600, 4gb ddr800, 500gb hd, dvd burner, 16 in 1 card reader, integrated audio/video(x4500hd with g45 chipset), 24" full hd monitor w/ hdmi imput vista home premium 64bit for 749 with free shipping and no interest for 9 months. anway, i want to upgrade the video on it and it only has a 350 power supply. I need to knwo what the best best card i can get with that powre supply with those components. If i have to upgrade psu i will. I was looking at an hd4850. The extreme psu website that tells you how much power you need said i could get that card with that power supply. But i dont know specs on the psu(volt on the rails and so forth.)

any help will do, thanks

oh ps. i am a casual gamer, obveously or i would have built one like i used to. I just want to be able to play the newer games without worrying on decent settings.

The 4850 is a good card, but you'd definitely need to upgrade the PS. This would be a great option.

any sugestions without replacing psu? dell offered an hd 3650 but at 100$ i was like....do huh!? so anything better in that power range?

IMO, any card that will work without an upgrade isn't worth the money. Like you said, the 3650 will probably work, but you can get a much better card for $100.

well, until taxes i cant upgrade and that x4500hd isnt going to work...so what you do reccomend in the 30-50 range?

also, that studio mini tower computer have a regular sized psu, or is it a small one. I will upgrade sometime next year with video and psu....but until then, i will make do with something cheaper.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I 'think' the 9600gso will run on that PS. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121251
