Hi,

First post on Tom’s so I guess a hello is in order !

My question today is regarding the 9800gtx + (no particular manufacturer in general).

My current set up is as follows:

NZXT Rogue (3 standard case fans)
Q6600 (not the GO version) running stock
4gb XMS2 DDR2 800mhz
2x Samsung Spinpoint f1 drives Raid 0 (1TB)
Single Optical Drive
BFG 9800GT OC
Coolermaster Real Power 520w Modular PSU

Now, I have managed to come across someone trying to offload a 9800gtx+ (brand new and boxed).
For the requested price Im more than tempted but have some worrie’s, mostly heat and power consumption.

Will my system handle this fine?

Many thanks in advance.

Yes milord ! i run a 9800gtx+ whit a 600w psu, My Zalman Power meter tell 300W gaming and 200W idle. Remember to have a psu MINIMUM 25% more powerfull that ur PEAK power usage and ur fine ! Bigger is better but ull be ok ! Cya

Seems your right, looking into I reckon CPU and drives I’m using around 160ish watts max and from what I can see around the gtx+ uses max around 300w under load? Depending on model of course.

More than likely worth a try just didn’t want to fit it as the screw quality on the case is awful and would prefer not to have potential nightmare of rounding them off.

Thanks for the reply.
