Overclocking C2D E4400 (2.0GHz -> 3.0GHz)

Hello,

This is my system config:

(+) Gigabyte G41M-ES2L
(+) Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 2.0GHz
(+) 2 x Kingston ValueRAM DDR2-667 1GB

Well, I have just overclocked my C2D to 3.0GHz (300MHz x 100) and Windows 7 is working fine and stable however I have two issues:

1. Temperatures: idle 52 ºC / full 75+ ºC

2. RAM: if I had setup processor bus to 300MHz (FSB 1200MHz), my memories should be working at 600MHz (300MHz x 2), right? But it's rare because CPU-Z tells me that my memories are working as if they were DDR2-800: http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/2390/cpuzj.jpg. To what it is due?

1. Are you using the stock cooling? If so, you need better cooling.

2. Here's a commented BIOS listing from another poster with a G31 board:

Should help.

Your settings should not much different. The G31 BIOS is very similar.

Get a decent cooler from Zalman or Thermaltake or you might not be able to get any higher than you have now due to the high temps. Also use arctic silver 5 or any thing better instead of what compound that you have at this time.
