Just wondering if a single ATI Radeon HD 4850 will work with a Gigabyte K8N-SLI? I'm almost thinking not because the board is a "SLI" meaning nVidia. I'm still waiting for Gigabyte support to respond.
Yeah, the board will run a HD 4850, so as long as its a single card that your using, then you should have no problems. Though to take full advantage of the motherboard, you would want to do SLI. Though the HD 4000 series is kicking some nVidia butt.
Try re-seating the RAM as well. unplug the computer, remove the old cards and the RAM. Put the RAM back in and then try just the 4850. if nothing happens, try it with just one 7800GT. should work after re-seating the RAM. Don't forget to install the right drivers for the HD 4850. Probably should uninstall the drivers for the 7800GT's first, then install the HD 4850.
1) BIOS -> loaded default settings; also cleared CMOS.
2) Memory -> reseated; downsized to 1 Gig.
3) 4850 card -> moved to different PCI-E slots.
I can see the little red light blink momentarily on the 4850 card. Then, shutsdown. Then blinks, then shutsdown. Keeps repeating and my PC never boots up.
