hi guys i know a little about RAID and i was wondering i have 4 hard drives and i want them in RAID 0 if one hard drive fails will it affect the other hard drive data??....and can i have a single hard drive in RAID setup?
In RAID-0, if ANY drive fails then you loose the data on ALL the drives in the same RAID set.
If you put all 4 drives into the same RAID-0 set, you loose all the data.
If you put 2 drives into one RAID-0 set, and the other two into another RAID-0 set, then if one drive fails you loose the data on both drives in THAT set, but the OTHER set continues to work OK.
Yes, you can have a single, non-RAID drive.
