Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz

hello just got a computer with this processor Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz, does anyone know if its ok to overclock and how would i go about it. here is my computer spec if you need it to answer me http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00...

But it has 4 gig ram and a radeon HD 4650 inside it.

Also would anyone recomend another better graphics card for me please?

I would say go for it. Enter the BIOS, increase clock speed to say 300mhz (stock voltages should be fine for this) disable intel speedstep, and enhanced halt state (C1E) save, reboot, run prime 95 for at least 20mins to make sure it's stable and your load temps don't exceed 60C. If you dont get any errors, run prime95 again overnight. If all is well you it should be stable. I reckon you could make it run at atleast 3.0ghz, but you will need an aftermarket heat sink for this. My first Core2 system used an E6600 and an eVGA 680i motherboard. It was running at 3.6 GHz.

Now, you have a commercially built PC. Those are harder to OC because the BIOS's are generally locked.
