Well here are my specs, Amd athlon x2 4800+, 4gb ram, 500 hitachi hdd, 1 opticald rive, 500w antec basiq psu.
I need help, i want to know, if my motherboard ( ASUS M3N78-VM) 1 PCIE SLOT, will function with the ati radeon 4850 hd? My chipset is 8200 integrated graphics, all my games run really poorly, and i want to be sure, that when i plug in that graphics cart, that the graphics cart will work, i am sure that any or most of the nvidia carts would work, but see i dont have a ton of money, and the 4850 fits in my budget, price and performance compartison. I am new to computers, I would really like to know, if my motherboard will support the 4850 hd ?
AGAIN... MOTHERBOARD IS >>> ASUS M3N78-VM <<<
Sorry for the long post!
Please if any help! I would really appreciate it guys!
So if i get th 4850, and install it, it will run just fine? Thats what i needed to know, and do you think my psu is powerful enough to power the 4850? Its 500w, with 18amps on both rails? around 36amps i am guessing? Is that enough? Here is the psu link. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817371004
Yes, your mobo has pcie 2.0 slot so no worries there. Im no expert on PSUs but i think it should be ok. I have 460w coolermaster and it handles 3.6g dual core, 2gb ram, 4850, two hdds, dvd and few fans without a problem, but its fairly new though.
Have a look here http://www.antec.outervision.com/ its a PSU calculator, it will give you ROUGH idea of what your system needs in terms of wattage.
Thanks so much mate! I shall be buying my cart, shortly, already upgraded my psu, ram, and hopefully add another hdd, and new case! Thanks for the quick reply! !
No problem, enjoy your new system, just make sure you have a pillow or something on the floor because your jaw will land on it when you stick that 4850 in and see the difference it makes. Mine did
