Hi, I have a windows vista 64 bit and I uninstalled my nvidia drivers from the uninstall program. After I installed my new ati card and tried to download the 8.10 drivers it gave me an error saying that the catalyst install manager has stopped working. Could someone help me on the problem?
thanks. I see the Nvidia display drivers but should I select Nvidia Chipset Drivers as well? Not sure what the chipset does. Will it mess up my computer(silly question)?
No, the chipset drivers are for the motherboard. You can leave those alone Not sure what would happen, but it wouldn't be good (although it wouldn't have blown up your computer or anything drastic).
but when I run driver sweeper and analyze nvidia chipset I see 9 registries and one file. I've been told not to do a clean on that. I am just hoping that is not the problem

try removing the chipset drivers. you shouldnt have any since your chipset is an Intel P35. worst case you'll have to reinstall those drivers later.
You shouldnt have nvidia chipset drivers period on a P35 board. It must be something you picked up accidentally somewhere. Get rid of anything Nvidia, and dont sweat it. You chipset drivers came with your mobo and will be Intel, not Nvidia.
I have 8.10 installed now through the command prompt. I can play half life 2 and unreal tournament 3 but devil may cry 4 made my computer restart at the start screen. Crysis warhead stops working after 1 minute. Could it be my psu?I just have a dual core with 4 gigs of ram with a 64 bit os. My psu is a pc cooler is a 750 watt and I used the 6+2 pin for the 8 pin slot on the card.
Oh what was weird was after crysis warhead stopped working I then started half life 2 and I noticed some graphical flickering on some parts in the title screen. Could I have a defect card? Tried episode 1 and 2 and same flicker. After computer restart it was back to normal. Weird.
