Looking for a Linux compatible GPU

Plan on having a dual boot option with Vista, Need something that would allow for gaming. Does any of the 4850 manufacturers have Linux support? If not, can anyone direct me towards a good GPU? Thanks.

All ati and nvidia cards are supported in linux. Nvidia support is a little better imo.

the newer the better. nvidia pre-8000 series are questionable, and nvidia pre2x series are questionable. Go to your flavor of linux, because there are likely a set of cards already supported without the need for new drivers.

nVidia support is much better in GNU/Linux. no dot net framework crap to worry about.

GTX 260 seems to be my best option for a ~$300 GPU
