I have 2 computers setup at my desk, one is my good computer, and the other is an old Pentium 4 PC that I use for my work documents and things. I have them both connected to the internet wirelessly through my good computer (Good computer has wireless NIC, connect with cross-over cable).

Is there a way I can create a folder that I can browse on both of my computers and transfer stuff from computer to computer with? I would like to transfer some old photographs from my Pentium 4 PC and don't own a flash drive. I was hoping I could just make a file to share between these 2 computers so I can drop and drag stuff to and from it.

Both computers have Windows XP Professional SP2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

sounds like you've already done all the hard work, you can select pretty much any folder and share it, if its on the good pc you need to opt to allow anyone to change the contents of the folder and then just search for it from the p4 machine.

try using either the name of the machine \\goodpc or its ip address to find it.

you may need to run the file sharing wizard if the above doesnt work even after a few restarts.

Thanks. I did it a bit differently.

I just enabled file sharing on the folder I wanted and it showed up in 'My Network Places' on my p4 machine.

Thanks for your help. I'm transfering all kinds of files now :)
