Upgrade HP Pavillion dv2500

Hello,

I wish to upgrade the hardware that I have currently in my HP Pavillion Notebook but have no experience in adding new hardware to computers.

I understand the concept of overclocking a computer but do not know if doing so would be a good idea on my computer as it already has an overheating problem.

Basically, I would like to know of any suggestions for better hardware that improve my computer's performance, RAM, graphics, etc.; new graphics card, CPU, harddrive, etc. but I don't know which harware to buy and use. My computer has only the retail hardware.

Specs:

Model: HP Pavillion dv2500 Notebook PC

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo

RAM: 2GB

32-bit vista

I have a relatively small amount I would like to spend (200 to 300 dollars)

What I mean is, how do I know which components are better than what I have, if they are compatible, and where to buy them?
