Windows firewall automatically turns off

I have this problem of windows firewall automatically turns off an di would manually turn it back on. Also sometimes when I logon to the my PC I see the ooff symbol for the firewall on the bottom right side of the screen. What can be done to stop the automatic firewall turn off?
