Hi, I wonder if there is any way to put 16GB of RAM on Dell inspiron 530. Currently I have 8gb of ram running xp64. It work well, but I need more ram for my project. Thanks much!!!

it would work ONLY if the Motherboard supports 4 GB memory chip whitch isn't being made unfortenlly (check spelling) why would someone wanna get more the 6 BG of ram anywayz just a waist of money

I tried this today. It will use 4gb memory sticks (Non-ECC) but only two of them. If you put any more memory in there than 8gb, it will keep rebooting part way through post. Get back down to 8gb and it is ok. The bios will report 128mb installed, 8gb available. Windows Server 2008 saw all 8gb.

Tried latest BIOS from Dell which made the startup screen much prettier but other than that I saw no difference in behavior. (Darn...I wanted this quad core box to have 16gb!)
