I have a computer running Windows XP that has two 150 GB drives. RAID has been set up on this computer but I want to take it off. If I F-Disk & format the drives...will that get rid of RAID?? I want to set up one drive for programs and data...then use the second drive for backup...but NOT using RAID.

Delete the array in the BIOS. If you want to save your OS/programs and data, do NOT reset the HDDs to non-raid. Re-boot and you should see both drives.

edit: This applies to RAID 1, not RAID 0. If you have RAID 0, you should clone your array to another HDD if you want to keep your OS, programs, and data. After cloning you can delete the array in the BIOS.
