So I had SLI up and running without a problem in windows xp 64 (after some nice people at tomshardware helped me out with those problems), and I just upgraded to a clean install of vista business x64. after installing the drivers for my 2 (8800 gt)s, i rebooted and then tried to enable sli in the nvidia control panel, but then it hangs for a while, and then my desktop background shrinks from 1280x1024 to 1024x768 while the resolution stays the same, then all the options in the nvidia control panel disappear, leaving only configure firstpacket settings and adjust teaming configuration under networking. when i look in the device manager it shows a yellow exclamation point next to one of the cards and it states "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43). When i click on check for solution, a windows message describes the problem as "Windows was able to successfully install device driver software, but the driver software encountered a problem when it tried to run. The problem code is 43." I've tried looking for solutions and nothing has really worked. I've uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled in safe mode. I know the cards worked in sli when I had xp installed, and I did not physically move around the parts so there can't be anything physically wrong with my configuration besides the switch to vista. I'm using the latest nvidia vistax64 drivers. HELP!

My specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 x2 5000 BE @ 3.1 gHz
Asus M2N SLI Deluxe Motherboard
4 gigs of ram
2 nvidia 8800gt 512 megs
Creative Soundblaster Fatal1ty Xtremegamer Pro
Windows Vista Business Edition x64

I have tried to uninstall the drivers in safe mode, run the driver sweeper and clean it out, remove 1 card, reinstall the drivers, and then added the 2nd card, and then reenabled sli to see if the problem was having both cards in at the time of installation, sadly that is not the case, this just kind of seems like a bad install of vista, the irony is that its a clean legit copy and it is giving me many many more problems than the cracked copy of xp64 that i've been using for like two years, whenever i try booting it says bootmgr is missing, I've run the repair tool from the install cd but it says that there are no issues. as a result i have to leave the cd in the drive everytime it boots, and somehow it works, this is just messed up
