K48 audio 5.1 sound

How do you get 5.1 surround sound out of the K48? I'm confused since it only has one audio out of Front-Out (l/r) port.

Once you plug cables into the other 2 ports you can then configure what they do in the audio program. I was wondering the same thing at first too.
