How to remove write protection from an hitach 160 gb hdd.

i changed my internal hdd into external from macbook pro. i formatted it by using disc utilities . it is read/write in macbook but as i put it in windows it can only read i cannot write,neither delete datas..i'ts getting real hard i am the only mac user among my friends as its real troublesome for data travel.. any body's got solution ..i would be really greatful ..
