Hi, i'm going to buy a evga geforce gtx 260 graphics card

http://www.evga.com/products/morei [...] P3-1258-AR

it requires 36 amps on the 12v rails, so i've been searching for a 650W psu, but i couldnt find any with 36 amps or more, but then i came across this, hec X-Power Pro 650 650W Continuous @ 40°C ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817339024

it has 4 12v rails, 19amps each. can it get the job done? can anyone suggest for better PSUs.

Get this PC P&C 750W for $80:

It's got 60A and it's one of the best PSUs ever made.

of the same wattage anything from: Antec, Corsair, Zalman, OCZ, Silverstone (unless a 220v area), Thermaltake, PC P&C, or Enermax. The PSU is one place you really do not want to skimp on. This should power it with no issues: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817703015
$70 PC P&C, or: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817341017
$90 OCZ

The same price also buys you a Corsair 650TX, 52A. That's the best 650W PSU I can think of.

Still, since they're the same price, the PC P&C is a better buy.

The Silencer 500W has 35A, and the ModXStream600W has 42A. Just to help the OP compare. :)

The pc p&c looks good, but is it compatible with the coolermaster 690 case, the conectors and plugs, etc. I'm a newbie to computer hardwares, so might sound realy stupid. anyways, heres the link to the case

it fit in my coolermaster centurion 5 just fine

It fits in the RC-690. For example there's a reviewer at newegg who has it in that case.

thanks for the help guys

if you want one cheap and yet silent and stable one try xilence 580watt around €45 or 600watt raptoxx around €60. if you want something modulair or higher you pay €90 then a 700watt coolermaster might be what you want.

Just upgraded to a Thermaltake PSU, but mine is only a 500w. Quiet, easy install, fits well into case, however, the cables are extremely long, but makes it easy to arrange unused ones.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents.
