Between Two Boards

I'm stuck deciding between two motherboards:

ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe 790FX/SB750

MSI K9A2 Platinum 790FX/SB600

I realize that the MSI board has a SB600 instead of the newer, fast 750, but it's also about 50 bucks cheaper (not counting any MIRs). I have also considered a 790GX board, but with the potential of me adding a second graphics card in Xfire I mostly ruled that out.

For your reference, the ram, cpu, and gpu I'm getting:

AMD Athlon 64 X2
Sapphire ATI HD4870 1GB
4GB DDR2-800

More about between boards
  1. How abt this board ?
    Has all what u require...

    GIGABYTE GA-MA790GP-DS4H AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail $138.99
  2. ASUS, Gigabyte, ECS, Foxconn, Zotac>MSI (remember: MSI is gonna die)(and it takes lots of stuff with it too)
  3. Instead of the M3A79T-Deluxe consider the M4A79-Deluxe.
  4. The M4A79 is definitely a nice board as well, although I'm a bit concerned about the placement of those three SATA ports if I crossfire (which is really the main reason to go with a FX board over a GX that I've seen).

Any reasons for choosing one board over the other? I'm open to peoples opinions on why to choose one over the other...
  5. I too would choose any mobo over MSI (for quality), although I wouldn't buy a VIA chipset board from anyone (for performance).
  6. This ASROCK 790GX board for $105 has two PCI-E slots for Crossfire:
ASRock AOD790GX/128M AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX ATX AMD Motherboard

I just bought one a couple weeks ago, and it's been up 24/7.
  7. ^Does ASrock have a good reputation when it comes to motherboards? I was looking at that exact one and I'm just trying to find out as much as I can.
