I know that this is a laptop, but its related to my motherboard and memory.

My computer recently stopped working, it just wouldn't POST. I gave up on it and set it aside and bought a new laptop, but the laptop's memory wasn't running dual channel (2 sticks too different to do so). So I decided to take the RAM from my MSI, though it added up to less GBage, I figured 1GB less (but dual channel) would run a certain program faster.

It turns out one of those sticks was fried and didn't work. So I had my MSI back, but had lacking one stick. So I bought 2 matching pairs of RAM and stuck em in, but now I have a registry problem. I get the BSoD, claiming a registry entry is invalid (or something along those lines).

I've been wracking my head over this and have found out if I run a single stick of RAM in Slot #1, then I don't get the death screen and all is fine. This is good, but undesirable (no dual channel :[ ).

Could my memory slot #2 be damaged? If so, what should I do about it?

On another note, my video and CPU fan makes a clicking/humming/bad sound all the time. Is this replaceable? ATi Radeon HD 2600

Could have issues using the amount of RAM, most laptop MB's have a max mem limit. (usually in even amounts 2GB, 4GB, ect)

Nope, it isnt to do with my max. I didn't change anything about it until it started happening.
