hello to all Gurus here!

off late wires are causing a a lot of irritation in my house, so finally planned to take the wireless plunge!

what i have:
>D-Link GLB-502T adsl 2+ modem (although it reads "router" i am not sure if it is"
>Acer Aspire 5000 notebook which supports 802.11G (i think)
>a broadband connection which promises 2mbps, but delivers 200-250kbps

my setup:
the telephone wire goes into my adsl modem, from there a rj45 cable connects the modem to the laptop.

what i need:
something to throw off the broadband connection wirelessly to my laptop!!

what i have seen:
the market is crowded with the latest "N" routers boasting 200+mbps speeds (what good is this, when my internet provider himself is offering a meager 2mbps!!) and a lot of flashy firewalls....

can someone please help me in finding a simple basic value for money router which can serve my purpose.

allthough cost is a concern i am not looking for the cheapest on the shelf.....but somthing more value for money....

or do i need a router in the first place??? any alternative workarounds/setups also welcomed..

thanks in advance,

kha!ee!

You have a "G" laptop.
You have a GLB-502T router.
Consider an inexpensive wireless "G" router where you can disable NAT and make it an access point only.
"N" wireless needs "N" equipment at both ends.
