I would like some advise on a potential upgrade of my current computer system.
I use the system primarily for online gaming- Call of Duty- World at War, and Counterstrike.

My current system specs as follows:
CPU: Socket 775 Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU @ 2.4GHz 1066FSB 2 x 2 MB L2 cache EM64T
Motherboard Asus P5N32-E Nforce SLI chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2
2Gb PC6400 DDR2/800 dual channel memory.
Nvidia Geforce 7950 GT 512 MB 16XpCI express video card
Apevia 600W ATX power supply
Windows XP

What are my options in upgrading my CPU, best value, performance gain.

Should I consider a video card upgrade as well?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Splendid
There's not much point in upgrading the CPU, as you've already got a nice fast dual-core CPU. Your video card is many generations old, though. You can pick up a Radeon 4850 for not much more than $100 these days, or a 4870 if you want to splurge. Even the 4850 will make a night and day difference from your current setup.
