Hi guys,

Im a total noob to overclocking.

I have a 2 yr old rig that was good in its time was thinking about upgrading to a new one but tbh even the 5970 dosnt impress to to much think il wait to theres something really worth slashing out on..

I have 2 Geforce 8800GTS 512mb is sli that i am wanting to overclock to as high a speed as capable.
Idle they are 51 Degrees C (fan speed 37%) i put the fans on 100% the temp drops to 43 Degrees idle.
The Cards are using the G92 chip.

The Rest of my rig consists of a Q6600 2.4Ghz (stock)
4GB OCZ 1066 DDR2 (stock)
Asus Striker II Formula Motherboard
windows 7 ultimate 64bit.

I downloaded that Nvidia tune programme but they only had it for vista 64 bit.

Any Advice or what i need to do is most appriciated thanks guys.

a good first step would be overclocking your q6600 a bit. at least to 3GHz...which is a very easy overclock and would boost your gaming a bit. There are a lot of tutorials on here on how to do it. To get your q6600 to 3GHz you shouldn't even have to adjust your voltages at all. Just your FSB and your multiplier in BIOS.
