HDD recovery software

Hello,
I have a hard disk that Im hoping to spin one last time so I can copy my files.
I recently found all these programs like Clonezilla, Odin,etc, that are suppose to be used for this kind of task.
My question is: Why should I use these tools instead of Windows's copy/paste ???

It really doesn't matter what you use, at least in my opinion. Most of the programs you mentioned simply clone the entire HDD, OS and all. But if you just want certain files and no programs, I'd use Windows.
