best Gb per dollar i could find. should i get two? this is a learning computer for me, so should i bother learning how to configure RAID
GPU still my biggest problem, i can think of 2 options, the gtx 260, or the ati 4850 the latter is 70 dollars cheaper so im leaning towards that, but how much of a performance boost would i have with the gtx.
i play modern games, and i want to run them on at least high, my max resolution will be 1650x1050. i want at least 30 fps average. i play crysis, assassins creed, cod4, and im gonna get fallout 3 and farcry 2.
anything i should change, what gpu should i get?
thats about 900 bucks (with os), i wanna keep it under 1000.

yeah, i just noticed its ide. thanks for showing that.
the Gigabyte doesnt have pcie 2.0, would the gpu take a hit if it was a regualar pcie compared to 2.0?
also the gtx you showed was the one i was thinking about getting, the 4850 is 140 no shipping after rebate. so...about 70 dollar difference. im leaning towards the 4850 still
The G31 would purely be a budget board that fits the micro ATX case. The Gigabyte G31 does overclock well and the PCIex16 1.1 won't be a factor with cards out now .....with the possible exception of the 4870x2. The 4850 is a great card, but the GTX260 is better. You'd have to drop another $80 dollars to get a better card than the GTX260 (9800GX2) or $120 more bucks for the HD4870.
is there any actually reason why you are getting that case? have you already purchased it? you could get a case just as good or better that would fit a standard ATX board in it which would then save you money and you would get better performance
