Hey All.. I am new here to posting, but this place has been great to search and read other postings...

Here is what I currently use:

Manufacturer: Custom Built
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3700+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Hard Drive: 200 GB - w/RAID 0
Video Card: Radeon X1900 GT
Monitor: 28" HANNS-G LCD Widescreen Display
Sound Card: SB Audigy 2 Audio [BC00]
Speakers/Headphones: 5.1 Speaker System
Keyboard: Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
Mouse: Logitech HID-compliant G5 Laser Mouse
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254)
Motherboard: DFI LanParty

As you can see I plan on using 2 cards for SLI... should I really wait for them to get this in stock and buy this 'Sli' ram? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227326 instead?

I hope this motherboard is worth the money... look forward to talking with y'all!

mobo is kinda pricey

you could get an intel based mobo like an asus p5q
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131297

cant do SLI BUT you can then get a 9800GX2 instead (which is SLI on one card, same sh!t basically)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130338

and i see that you are getting supreme commander as well
that particular game likes more cpu cores, so you may want to switch to a q6600 instead for it if you plan on playing it a lot

EDIT
-----

and adding to that, when switching mobos, you can go with DDR2 instead which will also save you a sh!tload of cash

the diff between ddr3 and ddr2 performance isnt worth the extra money
you can get this instead

70$ for 4gb, story done

if you get the e8600, its fsb is 333
if you OC the fsb to 400, that will get you (400x10) 4ghz on the e8600 without ever pushing the mem past its limits

i have "regular" patriot 1gb x 2 mem that im running at 425, 25 over spec and it runs fine

here's an article that explores ddr2 vs ddr3
http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=2989

save your money!

Awesome.. yeah I was just worried about the SLI option hence the 790i chipset... since people tell me ATI is not as good as nVidia... thanks for the feedback for sure!
